K.I.N. (Kids In Nebagamon)
a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization

Established in 1992, as a memorial to longtime Lake Nebagamon business owners, Marge & Wally Urbaniak, who were active in programs to aid children and families in need. This program serves children throughout the entire School District of Maple.

WHAT IS THE MISSION OF K.I.N.?
K.I.N. provides assistance where government and/or faith-based organizations are unable to provide immediate & personalized help. The families, and especially the children, are encouraged to "pay it forward" by helping others when their own circumstances improve.

K.I.N. provides the following services:

• 1-on-1 assistance to children in families experiencing crises such as:
  • Serious illness of parent and/or child
  • Home fires & other traumatic events
  • Unexpected job loss
  
  
• Clothing, emergency food supplies, school supplies, gifts (especially at Christmas time) & household needs after home fires.
  
  
• Preventative dental care for children referred by Douglas County Dept of Health & Human Services
  
  
• Subsidies for children's swimming lessons at Lake Nebagamon Public Beach
  
  
• Referral and advocacy when and where needed
