The Inn's Long History
The Lawn Beach Inn began, as far as anyone can recall,as the home of
the home of F.L. Wilkins, a Weyerhouse Lumber Co. executive and was among the first buildings with
electricity. It was later known as "The Poplars" and then as the Lake Hotel.
During prohibition its basement served as a speakeasy run by Bill Charbonneau. Wally and Marge Urbaniak
bought the building in 1968 and operated it as the popular Lawn Beach Inn , now owned
and operated as a restaurant/bed and breakfast by son Bill and his wife, Barb.
